Challenge
A flagship office environment required a ceiling system that delivered acoustics, aesthetics, durability, light reflectance, and fire resistance.
The redeveloped office building at 42 Southwark Bridge Road offers up to 1,695 desk spaces, 15 shared suites, and three conference and meeting rooms. It was designed to meet a range of business needs, from a traditional open plan office to data centres, and required exacting performance criteria from its ceiling system.
Client Sungard AS is a global leader in data recovery centres. Their vision was to create a hybrid working model – where teams work collaboratively in a highly secure and cyber-protected environment whilst still enjoying some of the benefits and comforts enjoyed from working at home.
Solutions
Eight of Zentia’s Axiom canopy frames with Dune eVo tiles feature in the canteen area of the building.
The 135,873ft2 of space was completely redesigned, injecting it with light and colour. Ceilings were installed in new breakout areas and refreshment spaces to improve well-being.
The Dune eVo tegular-edged tiles used in the canteen area feature Class C acoustics, 85% light reflectance, and provide fire resistance to Euroclass A2-s1, d0.
The 490m2 of Zentia systems were installed over two months by a team of up to eight fixers from specialist subcontractor O’Brien Contracts.
